OurConnections Small Group Therapy

OurConnections Group Therapy is a short-term therapy group for youth adoptees ages 12-17, where they will have the opportunity to explore what adoption means to them.

Topics will include, but are not limited to discussion around the meaning of adoption, grief and loss, building and maintaining healthy relationships, and birth/first families. Limited space is available to ensure everyone has space to share. The group will meet virtually via doxy.me every-other Saturday, beginning September 10th.

This group is open to all transracial adoptees, adopted domestically, internationally, or from foster care.

Meet the Group Facilitator!

Jennie is a Korean American Adoptee who has had the privilege of returning to Korea on two separate occasions. Jennie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, living and working in Central Pennsylvania. Jennie currently works full-time as a hospital social worker, but continues to provide individual therapy to children and teens part-time at a local private practice, focusing on varying issues such as adoption issues, anxiety, depression, anger management, and self-esteem.

All therapy sessions will meet at 12:00-1:30pm Eastern for 90-minutes

  • September 10th

  • September 24th

  • October 8th
    (meeting 2:00-3:30pm EST)

  • October 22nd

  • November 19th

  • December 3rd*

  • December 10th*

*Individual 30-min wrap up sessions the 2 Saturdays in December 3 and 10th will be offered to group participants. It can be with just the adoptee, parent, or adoptee and parent together. The group price will include the individual wrap-up session.

  1. Is financial aid available?
    A limited number of scholarships/financial aid is available on a case-by-case basis.

  2. I can’t make all the meetings, will you prorate the cost of the session?
    No, the cost of $275 is for the full session and we do not prorate for any meetings missed.

  3. What is the maximum number of participants in the group?
    The maximum number of participants is eight (8)

  4. How long is each individual meeting?
    Each individual meeting is 90-minutes-long
