“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” — Oprah Winfrey
The Dear Chingu: Mentor-2-Mentee (M2M) Program is a combination of our Dear Chingu Penpal Program and OurRoots Mentorship Program. The M2M program coordinates letter exchanges between adult adoptees (18+)—who are the mentors and youth adoptees (6-17)—who are the mentees. Mentors and mentees can live anywhere around the world!

Frequently Asked Questions:
How are matches made?
Upon application, we will ask mentors and mentees (via parents) a series of questions. We will use these items to match mentors and mentees.
Will my child be matched with a mentor adopted from the same birth country?
If this is requested, AdopteeBridge will try their best, but there are no guarantees.
A mentee/mentor may be matched according to similar interests/hobbies, similar region of the world, etc.
Why facilitated correspondence? Why can’t my family be in direct contact with the mentor?
We are protecting the minors’ involvement with the program. Safety is our #1 priority
It is also important the mentee and mentor feel they are closely in direct contact. This is why we give the mentee (if parent/guardian permission received) to email AdopteeBridge directly! The unique part of the M2M program, this is especially important if the mentee has a question about how to ask their parent about particular topics, has a bad day at school and wants to write a quick email to their mentor to vent, etc.
If there is any content that is deemed inappropriate, AdopteeBridge will contact parents ASAP
